Earlier I was using one external monitor (Dell S2440l 24 Inch Led Backlit Monitor) with my MacBook Pro. In terms of productivity I was doing great because I didn’t have to switch between various applications and windows while multi-tasking . But then I realized it would be even more awesome if I get another 24inch monitor and setup dual monitors with MacBook Pro.

So I did some research and bought Dell S2415H 24 Inch LED monitor, which is replacement for Dell S2440L.

Requirements
- MacBook Pro
- Two monitors
- Atleast one HDMI cable
- Mini display/thunderbolt to HDMI convertor or HDMI to thunderbolt
- Or if you have VGA port in your second monitor, then VGA to thunderbolt cable
Parallels
MacBook Pro has only one HDMI port and one Thunderbolt port, so first monitor you can connect with HDMI cable, but for connecting second monitor to your MBP you’ll need thunderbolt to HDMI cable or thunderbolt to VGA cable.
If you have two HDMI cable, then you should get this Mini Display port to HDMI Adaptor, you can use it to connect HDMI cable at one end and other end will be connected to MacBook via thunderbolt port.This product also comes in bundle, which contains one HDMI cable and one Mini Display port to HDMI adapter.
follow these steps to setup dual monitors with MacBook
Step 1: Connect first monitor with HDMI cable & connect second monitor with HDMI cable using Mini display port to HDMI adapter.
Step 2: Open “Display preferences” (F4->System preferences -> Display).
Step 3: Go to “Arrangement” tab and arrange monitors according to their position on your desk. You can also move the “Dock” from MacBook to monitors, just drag the dock from macbook to monitor in arrangement tab of your display preferences.
Step 4: You can also select “Mirror Displays” option, which will project same screen across both monitors.
Step 5: Change the resolution of your external monitors.

While in Windows I'm unable to use a true dual monitor setup (but no problem in OS X). I'm able to move individual windows onto the 2nd monitor using the 'coherence' feature in Parallels but it's extremely awkward - the monitors can't be lined up properly, the windows can't be maximized in either window without spreading across both, they tend to push out of the screen and are hard to get back, and it's simply very slow and jittery moving the windows.
I was wondering if there's something I'm missing. Has anybody been able to use multi-monitors in Parallels Windows the same way as native Windows (or Mac)?
And as a fallback, does Bootcamp handle multi-monitors well?
