If you don’t want to keep the virtual machines and related data on your Mac, you can delete them before you uninstall Parallels Desktop. Here’s how you can do to remove virtual machines: Right click on Parallels Desktop icon in Dock and choose Control Center. Parallels Desktop for Mac Home Edition; Parallels Desktop for Mac Pro Edition.

To remove a virtual machine (VM) please follow these steps:

  1. Launch Parallels Desktop.app, but do not start your virtual machine.

  2. Click on the Parallels icon on the Mac menu bar > select Control Center.

  3. Right-click on your virtual machine and select Remove.

  4. Select Keep files if you wish to access the files from this virtual machine later. The virtual machine will be removed from the list, but it will remain in its original location.

    Select Move to Trash, if you do not need any data from this virtual machine and want to erase it completely.

WARNING: The Move to Trash operation is irreversible. After moving the VM to Trash you might not be able to restore it.
